In a few weeks I enter into travel chaos mode. Because of unexpectedly becoming a finalist in the Rita Awards I’ve had to juggle plans to attend the Romance Writers of America conference in San Diego.
I already had plans to attend the Romantic Novelists Association conference in Lancaster this year. There’s usually around 250 attendees and it’s a really fun away to recharge and refill the writers well.
I was due to get home for a day, pack four cases, and head off on a family holiday to Tenerife.
Now, it will be home for a day, head off to San Diego (staying in the gorgeous hotel above), start travelling home at 4am after the awards ceremony on Saturday night, land from New York at 730am on the Monday morning, pack four cases and leave at 630am for Tenerife (staying in the gorgeous hotel below) the next day!
I plan on being exhausted for a while!
I also have some more books to write this year – a medical with a rogue Princess, a series with four other Romance authors, then another medical for Christmas.
Anyone else have some hectic times coming up??
I’m exhausted just reading that, Scarlett! I think you will collapse in Tennerife but it is the perfect place to sit and do nothing. Oh wait! You have sons! Hmm, I’d be bribing the DH to take them out snorkling etc while you sleep and read. Enjoy it all 🙂
What exciting times ahead for you, Scarlett!!!
You know what would make that exhaustion worthwhile? Packing that pretty golden lady to take with you to Tennerife 🙂
Bring it home girlfriend – I will be rooting for you!
Oh what exciting times ahead Scarlet!! But you will need that holiday in Tenerife!
Hectic times? Not so much for me, but I do also have a trip to USA and am so looking forward to catching up with one of my fave authors and friends … here’s looking at you Scarlet!…. and cheering you on when you win that RITA!!!!!!
I’m out of breath just thinking about it Scarlet, and I have absolutely nothing to contribute that’s even a fraction as hectic. How exciting though! I’ll be cheering from afar and hoping you’ll be dashing to the airport full of champagne and with a RITA in your hand!
That sort of hectic sounds fabulous to me! Fingers very firmly crossed for you for the RITAs.
Gosh, I’d be done in after all of that! And as an introvert, I’d want to shut myself away for a few days in Tenerife!
Thank you ladies! Think I will sleep for a few days when I reach Tenerife! My sons want to visit the water park everyday though!
Now, you know you love a party! And you are going to win, win, win! Wish I could be there, but not with your schedule. The boys have a dad to go to the water park with once you get to Tenerife. Feet up, glass of something cold and lovely, and smile, smile, smile… It will be amazing. You will be amazing. You ARE amazing!
I’m exhausted just reading about your upcoming chaos. I hope your conscious enough to remember who and where you are! 😉 But they say – Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming … WOW! What a ride!
I say you’ve got the right idea on that one!
Congratulations again on your double RITA final. So looking forward to meeting you, but I don’t expect to be more than a blur on your wild ride. 🙂
Wow, that’s some serious exhaustion coming up, Scarlet! But I’m beyond excited for you being nominated for not one but two RITAs, and will be rooting loudly for you! Can’t wait to meet you, and I agree with Amy – packing the golden lady in your suitcase will make it all very worthwhile. 🙂
I meant “see you” because I got to meet you last year in NYC! Whoo boy, I’m so excited for you that I wrote too fast 🙂 Happy travels!
WOW Scarlet
You are going to be busy but in such a good way huge congrats on the RITA nominations and good luck
Have Fun
Helen
Scarlet,
You do sound like you are going to be travel weary but after you win a RITA you will be so happy you want notice. I look forward to see you on that stage.
Thank you ladies. You all seem to have much more confidence than me. I plan on having fun and meeting you all! Susan x
Sounds AMAAAAZING! Very jealous of the San Diego part – but SUPER HAPPY I get to see you in Lancaster! xx Annie
