Snow trip!

Happy 2019! My hubby and I rang in the new year at the lovely home of friends in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was a wonderful combination of fun (as in, multiple parties celebrating two birthdays and New Year’s Eve), skiing, and relaxation by the fire.

The views from the plane were the first enjoyable part of the trip – the clouds look like icy snow, don’t you think? And the Rocky Mountains are spectacular.

The first full day we were there, fourteen inches of snow fell. Powder day! ๐Ÿ™‚ Much as I was tempted, I decided to stay at the house and ski the following day, which turned out to be a good decision, as it was a white-out. Hubby said it was the hardest ski day he’s ever had, so setting up party decorations with the other women had definitely been the best choice! But I did ski the next day, and it was gorgeous. Here are hubby and I overlooking the Tetons and Jackson Hole. Just beautiful.

Here’s an appetizer at one of the birthdays on New Year’s Eve. Then we went up the Gondola for a party up the mountain, which had a great band and lots of dancing. Here’s a pic of friend Susan and me enjoying ourselves.

How did you ring in the new year? Are you a skier? Any trips over the holidays, or coming up in the near future? I hope 2019 brings you good health and lots of smiles. xoxo

  1. Looks like you had fun! I am allergic to snow, so I had a date here in Orlando with two handsome guys, they lasted till 9:45 pm! (of course,my grandsons are two and a half and 3 months, but they are the best dates ever!) I gave the two year old a sleeping bag for Christmas, so we camped in front of the TV on the floor to watch the New Years ball drop. I forgot how hard those floors are,and how restless two years are in their sleep! Thankfully I was able to get back to my real bed once mom and dad got home at one and moved the little guy to his bed.

    1. Aww, that sounds like the absolute perfect way to ring in the new year, Laurie! And I’ll bet they loved spending it with you, too. ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxo

  2. Hi Robin

What a fabulous trip you had and the photos are beautiful, and no I am not a skier not a lot of snow her Australia ๐Ÿ™‚ although I have been skiing many years ago for a day and enjoyed it, but this year we stayed home watching the fireworks on TV and keeping our pets calm through them all a nice quiet ring in to the new year :).

    Happy New Year

    Have Fun

    1. Quietly ringing in the new year as its pluses, too, Helen – we’ve had plenty of those ourselves. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy 2019! xoxo

  3. Great pics, Robin!
We rang the new year in on our deck in our new home which was very special ๐Ÿ™‚
Skiing. Me? No. Sitting in front of a roaring fire with a glass of red wine while snow piles up outside the window – hell yes! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Well, I confess I did spend more time sitting in front of a roaring fire and drinking wine than I did skiing, Amy! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I enjoyed that a lot! Sitting on your deck with your gorgeous view sounds wonderful, too. Happy 2019!

    1. It is a gorgeous place, Susan – I didn’t get a pic that shows how truly beautiful it is to look out over the Tetons with the valley below. Just stunning.

Happy New Year to you and yours!
