My 39th book is out today!
“Rescued by the Australian GP” is set on the River Murray in South Australia. In the summer of 2022 – 2023 devastating floods inundated the Riverland (the biggest floods in 50 years) and our holiday house was one of thousands that went underwater.
Initially we could wade in and later on we could paddle to the house to check it. It was eerily quiet, no powerboats, no machinery and most unsettling of all – no birds. The river is normally teeming with parrots, galahs and cockatoos – all known for their raucous sound.

We kayaked past the top storey when the river was almost at its peak–
And flew over – you can see the houses in the middle of the river…
Twelve months on and the region is recovering, our house and many others have been repaired or rebuilt and life is getting back to normal.
It was an overwhelming experience but I thought I’d put it to good use and drop my heroine and her daughter into the flood zone (when life gives you lemons…).
Traumatized and looking to start a new life for herself and her daughter, Ella doesn’t need more drama or a knight in shining armour but that’s exactly what she gets in the form of Dr Luke Donato.
