One of my favorite things about starting a new year is starting a new planner. Yes, I’m one of those people. My life revolves around a colorful calendar where I keep my work and writing schedule along with all my social events. As soon as I received my new planner this year, I started scheduling out all the things I have planned for the year. At the same time that I was organizing my planner, I was also plotting my next book that will come out next December. It was at this time that I realized my whole life was made up of three acts, just like my books.
I start off Act I excited about the possibilities of a new year and quickly head into Act II. This year my second act will be filled with welcoming a new grandbaby in the Spring and a new daughter-in-law in the fall. Of course, there will be wonderful vacations to look forward to, but there will also be ups and downs throughout the year with my work and my family life warring with each other. There will be heartache and failures, but there will also be joy and successes. And then, when I’m totally exhausted by the day-to-day trials, the holidays arrive and ushers in my Act III, when, surrounded by family, I’m reminded that all the work and struggles have been worth it. After everything life has thrown at me during the year, I survived and got my own happily ever after. The end, until the next new year when it starts all over again.
So now, as I sit here and color code my planner, I look forward to all the things life has in store for me this next year, which includes the release of three medical romances. The first one, Pregnant with the Secret Prince’s Babies, is out this month. A dedicated flight nurse expecting twins and a handsome doctor with a royal secret was a lot of fun to write and I think it will be a lot of fun to read.

Until next time, best wishes and happy reading,
Deanne Anders
